Getting your content ready for sale is easy. At first it may seem a bit time consuming, but you'll just get faster and faster at it.
We suggest you print off this guide to have beside you while you format your images for the site.
For each game
1)Make sure your game file is in one of the required formats, listed below.
2)Format your thumbnail and 2 screenshots.
3)Prepare your description, price and details.
4)Upload your other versions to match more mobile phones.
5)Lather, rinse and repeat!
PS: You must own the copyright to any of the content you plan to sell.
Step 1 - Formats for your game files
Formats
Java: .JAR and a ..JAD file
FlashLite: .SWF
Symbian: .SIS
File Size
The maximum file size is 1Mb
Screen Resolution
Your game must be 320px by 480px or smaller.
The more versions of each game you upload, the more phone models it's likely to be compatible with. Here are some useful examples of screen sizes that might help:
300x300 - for square screens (i.e. Nokia 3100 (128x128), Nokia 8800 (208x208))
320x240 - for 4:3 screen ratio (Nokia E61, N95)
240x320 - for 3:4 narrow screens
176x144 - Nokia Series60 (models like 6600, 6630, 7610, N70, NGage,...)
176x220 - Wide range of SonyEricsson models (K700, W810, Z1010,), Motorola (RAZR, ROKR, Pebl, V600, many other models)
320x480 - Apple iPhone screen size
Step 2 - Format your thumbnail and two screenshots
Create a thumbnail graphic to represent your game on the site. You could use your profile photo, a title screen image, or just an image that represents your game.
Thumbnail & Screenshot dimensions
Your thumbnail and screenshot images should be 133px by 133px. The website will resize your image to fit if it is outside these dimensions.
Tip - Image files must be in either JPEG (.jpg) of GIF (.gif) format. If you need to change your image into one of these formats but don't have the software, try using Zamzar, an online tool that will convert your image for you.
Tip - Generally, your thumbnail will be a shot of the game title screen, while the two screenshots will show the in-game action. The thumbnail is used to advertise the product, while the screenshots display when the preview content button is clicked.
Step 3 - Prepare your description, price and details
You must provide these details:
Title - The title of your game
Description - A full and complete description helps buyers make decisions about buying. Think about adding a description that captures what you're selling.
Tags - A series of keywords; this is how buyers will find your item in a search.
Tip - separate your tags with a space, eg. "Golf green hit". To join two words together in one tag use double quotes, eg. "Golf ball".
Price - You need to price your content in a single currency. If you choose US$, all your items must be priced in US$.
However, you can opt to have your content item appear at a specific price in a specific currency that is not your default by using the "Add Currency Specific Pricing" option on the first page of the upload process.
Tip - buyers on our site can choose to view content in the currency of their choice - so we'll convert your currency.
Optional Video - if you've got a YouTube video about your business, your works or something quirky to promote yourself you can add the link and it will appear next to your content on the site.
Country Copyright Restrictions - You might only own the copyright for certain countries. If there are countries you can't sell in, just note them down.
Currency Specific Pricing - You can choose to price your content differently depending on the currency of the buyer. However, this does open you up to foreign exchange risk - it's your choice :)
Step 4 - Upload your other versions
If you want to offer your content in multiple formats, click the " Add Version" link from the Manage Content screen. The more versions of your game you upload the more phones it is likely to be compatible with.
Tip - Remember to label your version with a name that will help you identify it quickly from the Manage Content screen.
Step 5 - Demo Versions of your game
voeveo now offers you the ability to upload free demo files for potential customers, with voeveo covering the cost of sending these files out to mobiles. Demos are a great way of creating interest in your games with mobile phone users all over the world on a try-before-you-buy basis.
When you upload a version of your game, you will see a separate field for demo versions of the same file. A buyer browsing the site will see that there is a demo version of your game available, and can click a button that will send the demo version directly to their mobile phone. Demo versions are generally shorter or limited versions of the full game, such as just a few levels, or limited by a timer.
We strongly recommend you attach demo versions of your games, as these are a great way to increase your sales and create interest in your games.
