Would you like to hear your phone ring with the sound of an old rotary phone? This one sounds very American, from the 60's through the early 80's, before answering machine phones were everywhere.

Does what it says on the label :-)

Half a meg is a bit on the large size for such a short tone though.

Thanks cheerschopper for buying the ringtone! Hope you enjoy it!
Do you have a suggestion on a more appropriate file-size? I'd really appreciate it! I guess I always compress on the "high" side thinking the quality will be better. If the ringer works on any given phone, what's the downside to the size? I appreciate your input! - C

Yeah it sounds really good. I've very happy with it. Now if more people would ring me :-)

As for the file size,I'm probably showing my age when I think 400-odd kb is big. That said, it strikes me that a ringtone doesn't have to be particularly high fidelity, esp if it's lo-tech like this ringer. I don't know exactly how this one's been encoded, but it works out to be the same size as 30 seconds of a Weezer song encoded in stereo at 160kbps. So you could probably halve the size if you made it 64kbps.

Thank you for all cheerschopper! Guess I wasn't thinking correctly from the lo-tech angle. Makes sense though! Thank you!
